Failing to plan is planning to fail
Getting older has its advantages. You suffer fools much less gladly. Speaking your mind is usually a little easier (not that others are always pleased with you new found confidence).
The greatest challenge about getting older is facing the fact that there are only so many breaths left. So many special occasions to celebrate. The countdown can be depressing. There is so much still to do, achieve, experience and enjoy.
However, leaving it all to the last minute or under pressure can be devastating for you and those who need to face the changes with you. Clearing out years of accumulated stuff, saying goodbye to treasures that will not fit in the downsized new home. It’s challenging and confronting – but at some point anticipating/accepting the changes in your ability to care for yourself, the yard and the housework MUST be a priority. It’s my recommendation that you manage the change, not the change manage you (because the decision is no longer yours). Below are some resource links that may be useful.
